FIRST SECTION EDITOR MEETING
On December 15, 2011, Emerging Microbes and Infections (EMI) held a section editor meeting in our brand-new EMI office in Shanghai.
Editor-in chief, Professor Yu-Mei Wen, Deputy editor-in-chief, Professor Shan Lu, Associate editors Dr. Zhenghong Yuan and Dr. Wenhong Zhang and Executive editor Xiaodong Zhang also attended the meeting.
In this meeting, Prof. Lu reported the progress EMI made over the last few months since we formally signed an agreement with NPG. Yin Huang, editorial office Director, provided a brief summary on the recent training trip held at NPG’s Asia-Pacific office in Tokyo, and discussed the prospective steps involved in EMI’s manuscript submission and processing. One key item discussed and agreed upon at this meeting, is that EMI will adopt a more active approach in securing high quality manuscripts. For this purpose, section editors will need to focus their efforts in seeking, identifying, and managing potential topics for EMI manuscripts in the future.
Section editors who were in Shanghai attended this meeting. However, more follow-up conference calls will be arranged with all section editors, in the near future, to implement interesting, informative topics and identify potential authors within each section.
